Baremetrics Recover costs 129 USD a month as an add-on, and it sits on top of a Baremetrics analytics plan that starts at 75 USD a month. That puts the smallest realistic bill at about 204 USD a month, or 2,448 USD a year on monthly billing. Baremetrics charges no commission on recovered revenue, offers a 14 day free trial and promises a free month if Recover brings in less than your Baremetrics bill.

Those numbers come from the Baremetrics pricing page at the time of writing. The same vendor shows other figures in other places, and we flag each one below, so confirm the final quote with Baremetrics before you put it in a budget.

Baremetrics plans and the Recover add-on

Recover is not sold on its own. You pick an analytics plan first, sized by your annual recurring revenue, and switch on Recover inside that account.

Item Listed price Who it is for What it includes
Launch plan From $75 a month $0 to $360,000 ARR Subscription analytics, trial insights, email reports, one billing integration
Growth plan From $255 a month $360,000 to $3.6M ARR Launch plus custom dashboards, segmentation, benchmarks, two integrations
Scale plan From $1,152 a month Above $3.6M ARR Growth plus forecasting, expense tracking, API, unlimited integrations
Recover add-on $129 a month Any plan Dunning emails, SMS, in-app banners and paywall, card capture form
Cancellation Insights add-on $129 a month Any plan Cancel reason surveys and post-cancel emails

Baremetrics advertises up to 35 percent off for annual billing. Its own FAQ quotes lower starting prices, 49 USD for Launch, 189 USD for Growth and 749 USD for Scale, without saying whether those are annual rates. The Recover product page adds a third view, a calculator example showing 499 USD a month for a company at 300,000 USD MRR. If you are near the top of a tier, ask which figure applies to you.

What Recover costs at your MRR

Baremetrics sizes plans by ARR, so it helps to translate. 360,000 USD ARR is 30,000 USD MRR, and 3.6M USD ARR is 300,000 USD MRR. Using the list prices from the plan table with monthly billing:

Your MRR Baremetrics plan Plan plus Recover, monthly Plan plus Recover, yearly
Up to $30,000 Launch $204 $2,448
$30,000 to $300,000 Growth $384 $4,608
Above $300,000 Scale From $1,281 From $15,372

With the full 35 percent annual discount applied to both lines, the Launch combination would come to roughly 1,590 USD a year. The discount is advertised as "up to", so treat that as a best case.

Older review sites list Recover alone at 58 USD to 1,149 USD a month depending on MRR, which reflects a previous pricing model where Recover scaled with revenue. If a reseller or comparison site quotes you that range, it is out of date.

What you get for 129 USD a month

Recover is outreach. It watches for failed charges and works on the customer, and the published feature list is clear about what that means.

  • A delinquency sequence of up to 7 emails, sent on days 0, 3, 7, 13, 15, 20 and 30 after the failed charge.
  • Two reminders before a card expires, at 30 and 7 days, and two reminders before an annual renewal.
  • SMS alongside the emails.
  • An in-app banner for delinquent customers, which turns into a paywall that blocks access after a grace period you set.
  • A branded card capture form on a Baremetrics subdomain or your own domain.
  • Card write-back to Stripe, Braintree and Recurly. Other gateways get the emails and in-app messages only.

What it does not do is retry the card. Baremetrics says Recover runs alongside your billing system's retries, such as Stripe Smart Retries, and does not replace them. So the timing of each retry stays with Stripe, and Recover's job is to get the customer to fix the card.

How the ROI guarantee works

Baremetrics promises that if Recover does not recover more revenue than your Baremetrics subscription costs, you get the next month free, applied as a credit. Two details matter. The test is against your whole Baremetrics bill, plan included, not just the 129 USD add-on. And recoveries are counted when a customer interacts with a Recover email or banner, which is a looser measure than counting only charges that actually cleared because of that contact.

For a company at 30,000 USD MRR that loses around 5 percent of revenue to failed charges, about 1,500 USD a month is at risk. Clearing a 204 USD bill means bringing back roughly one in seven of those dollars, which most working dunning setups manage. The guarantee is real but rarely the deciding factor.

Baremetrics Recover compared with a flat fee recovery tool

RevRescue is a standalone failed payment recovery product. There is no analytics plan underneath, and the fee depends on your MRR band.

Baremetrics Recover RevRescue
What you pay for Analytics plan plus $129 add-on Recovery product only
Entry price About $204 a month $99 a month, or $49 billed yearly
Up to $50,000 MRR $204 to $384 a month $99 a month
$50,000 to $250,000 MRR $384 a month $299 a month, or $149 billed yearly
$300,000 to $1M MRR From $1,281 a month $799 a month, or $399 billed yearly
Commission on recovered revenue None None
Who times the retries Your billing system RevRescue, by decline code and likely payday
Card write-back Stripe, Braintree, Recurly Stripe, Chargebee, Shopify, Paddle
Unpaid invoice follow-up Not a focus Reminders, payment link, escalation
Subscription analytics Full MRR and churn reporting Recovery reporting only

A worked case. A SaaS company on Stripe at 40,000 USD MRR lands in Baremetrics Growth, because it is past 360,000 USD ARR, so Recover costs 384 USD a month or 4,608 USD a year on monthly billing. The same company sits in RevRescue Starter at 99 USD a month, or 588 USD a year billed yearly. Between 250,000 and 300,000 USD MRR the picture flips, and Baremetrics at 384 USD is cheaper than RevRescue Scale at 799 USD on monthly billing.

When Baremetrics Recover is worth the money

Recover is good value when you already pay for Baremetrics analytics and use the dashboards every week. In that case the real price of Recover is 129 USD a month, and recovered revenue shows up in the same MRR and churn charts your team already reads. The paywall that locks a delinquent customer out after a grace period is also a strong lever that not every dunning tool offers.

It also makes sense if you bill on Braintree or Recurly, where it writes the new card back and many alternatives do not connect.

When a standalone tool costs less

The math turns against Recover when you are buying the analytics plan only to unlock dunning. That is common for teams that read their metrics in Stripe, ChartMogul or their own warehouse. It also turns when you sit just above 30,000 USD MRR and get pushed into the Growth tier, or when you want the retry timing handled by the tool rather than left to Stripe defaults.

If you are adding up every SaaS line on the budget before renewal season, it pays to track every SaaS subscription your team pays for in one place, because an add-on bought for one feature tends to outlive the reason you bought it. Before you talk to any vendor, put your MRR into the recovery calculator to see what failed payments cost you each month. The Churn Buster pricing and Churnkey pricing breakdowns cover the other two names that come up most in this search, and the dunning software page explains what a standalone tool handles.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Baremetrics Recover cost?

Baremetrics Recover costs 129 USD a month as an add-on to a Baremetrics plan. The plans start at 75 USD a month for Launch, 255 USD for Growth and 1,152 USD for Scale, so the smallest combined bill is about 204 USD a month. Annual billing is advertised at up to 35 percent off.

Can I buy Baremetrics Recover without the analytics plan?

No. Baremetrics sells Recover as an add-on available on any of its plans, so you need an active Launch, Growth or Scale subscription to use it. If you only need failed payment recovery, a standalone tool avoids paying for analytics you will not use.

Does Baremetrics Recover charge a percentage of recovered revenue?

No. Baremetrics says its pricing has no commissions or hidden fees. You pay the flat add-on price plus your plan, whatever Recover brings back. RevRescue uses the same flat fee model, priced by MRR band.

Does Baremetrics Recover have a free trial?

Yes. Baremetrics offers a 14 day free trial, and its ROI guarantee gives you the next month free if Recover does not bring in more than your Baremetrics bill. The guarantee is measured against the whole account cost, plan included.

Is Baremetrics Recover worth it?

It is worth it if you already use Baremetrics analytics, because then the extra cost is only 129 USD a month and recoveries appear in the same reports. If you would buy the analytics plan only to get Recover, a standalone dunning tool at 99 USD a month usually costs less for the same job.

What is a cheaper alternative to Baremetrics Recover?

RevRescue starts at 99 USD a month, or 49 USD a month billed yearly, for companies up to 50,000 USD MRR. It runs its own retries by decline code, card update requests, expiry reminders and unpaid invoice follow-up on Stripe, Chargebee, Shopify and Paddle, with no analytics plan required.
