Churn Buster Pricing and What Dunning Costs by MRR

Estimate what failed payments cost you each month
Two numbers, no signup and no billing access needed.
Churn Buster pricing starts at 269 USD a month for either Dunning or Cancel Flows, and at 430 USD a month for the two together. The fee is flat, month to month, with no contract and no commission on recovered revenue, and your MRR decides which tier you land in. There is also a free Measure plan for recovery analytics and a one time Advisory engagement at 2,500 USD.
Those figures come from Churn Buster's own pricing page at the time of writing. Directories and review sites still quote 249 USD or 349 USD as the starting price, and G2 shows no pricing at all, so treat anything that is not on the vendor's page as stale and confirm before you sign.
Below is what each option includes, how the MRR tiers behave, what a full year really costs and when a narrower, cheaper tool does the failed payment part just as well.
Churn Buster plans and prices
| Option | Published price | Billing | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Measure | Free | No contract | Recovery analytics on top of whatever dunning tool you use now |
| Dunning | From $269 a month | Month to month | Retries, recovery emails, SMS, card update page, team alerts |
| Cancel Flows | From $269 a month | Month to month | Save offers at the cancel button, A/B tests, exit feedback analysis |
| Dunning and Cancel Flows | From $430 a month | Month to month | Both products, plus segmentation, A/B tests and guidance from their retention team |
| Advisory | $2,500 one time | One off | 60 days of measurement, a benchmark report and a one hour review |
The Advisory fee is credited against your monthly bill if you adopt the tools within 90 days, so for most buyers it works as a paid audit that becomes a discount.
Churn Buster does not list a free trial on the paid products. The free Measure plan is the way to look at your numbers before paying.
How the MRR tiers work
Churn Buster does not publish the tier table. What the pricing page does say is that your MRR sets the flat monthly fee, that the tier is confirmed before billing starts, that the fee adjusts when your MRR moves into another tier, and that pricing for a single product "scales at roughly 0.1% of MRR".
That last line is the useful one for budgeting. If 0.1% of MRR is the rule of thumb, the 269 USD floor covers you until somewhere near 270,000 USD MRR, and the fee climbs from there. Our arithmetic, not their price list:
| Your MRR | 0.1% of MRR | Likely Dunning fee |
|---|---|---|
| $30,000 | $30 | $269, the floor |
| $100,000 | $100 | $269, the floor |
| $250,000 | $250 | $269, the floor |
| $500,000 | $500 | Around $500 |
| $1,000,000 | $1,000 | Around $1,000 |
Two questions are worth asking their team before you commit. First, which MRR figure they measure and when, since growth during the year moves you up a tier. Second, how the bundle price scales, because the page only gives its 430 USD starting point.
What Churn Buster costs over a full year
Month to month billing makes the commitment look small. Here is the same pricing as a yearly figure at the published floors.
| Setup | Monthly | Yearly |
|---|---|---|
| Dunning only | $269 | $3,228 |
| Cancel Flows only | $269 | $3,228 |
| Dunning and Cancel Flows | $430 | $5,160 |
| Advisory, not adopted | One time | $2,500 |
| Dunning at about $500,000 MRR | Around $500 | Around $6,000 |
For a company at 40,000 USD MRR losing 5% of revenue to failed payments, that is 2,000 USD a month at risk. Churn Buster says its pricing is set to break even at roughly a 1% improvement in recovery rate, and at that size even a modest lift covers 269 USD. The real question is whether you can get the same lift for less.
What you get for the money
Churn Buster built its name on dunning for subscription commerce, and it shows in the integrations. It connects to Stripe, Braintree and Recurly for SaaS, and to a long list of Shopify subscription apps such as Recharge, Skio, Loop, Smartrr and Ordergroove for ecommerce brands. Chargebee is not in the published list.
On the dunning side you get retries tuned to how recently and how often a customer has paid, recovery emails from a dedicated sending pool on your own domain, SMS as a second step, and an alert to your team when a payment is still open. On Stripe and Braintree, customers get a card update page that does not need a login and supports 3D Secure. The reporting counts a recovery only once the payment actually clears, which is the honest way to measure it.
Cancel Flows is the voluntary churn side: save offers by cancel reason, plan and tenure, A/B tests and a sentiment summary of exit feedback.
Churn Buster pricing compared with a flat fee tool
RevRescue covers the failed payment side, plus unpaid invoices and billing errors, at a lower fixed price by MRR band. It has no cancel flows.
| Churn Buster | RevRescue | |
|---|---|---|
| Priced on | MRR tier, about 0.1% of MRR per product | MRR band |
| Entry price for dunning | $269 a month | $99 a month, or $49 billed yearly |
| Up to $250,000 MRR | $269 a month, floor | $299 a month, or $149 billed yearly |
| Up to $1,000,000 MRR | Around $1,000 at the top of that range | $799 a month, or $399 billed yearly |
| Commission on recovered revenue | None | None |
| Contract | Month to month | Monthly or yearly |
| Cancel flows | Yes, separate product | No |
| Card update page | Stripe and Braintree | Stripe, Chargebee, Shopify and Paddle |
| Unpaid invoice follow-up | Not a focus | Yes |
| Billing leak detection | Not offered | Yes, Leak Scan |
A worked case. A SaaS company at 45,000 USD MRR on Stripe pays Churn Buster's floor of 269 USD a month for dunning, which is 3,228 USD a year. The same company sits in RevRescue's Starter band at 99 USD a month, or 588 USD a year billed yearly. The gap is 2,640 USD a year. Between about 50,000 and 250,000 USD MRR the two are close on monthly billing, 269 against 299 USD, and RevRescue only comes out cheaper on yearly billing at 149 USD a month.

When Churn Buster is worth the price
Churn Buster is a strong pick for subscription ecommerce. If you sell coffee, supplements or boxes through Recharge, Skio or another Shopify subscription app, its integration list covers far more of that world than most SaaS focused tools. It is also a fair choice if you want dunning and cancel flows from one vendor with one month to month invoice, and if a free analytics baseline before you pay matters to you.
Teams that want a hand from people, not only software, may also value the Advisory engagement and the retention team guidance in the bundle.
When a cheaper dunning tool makes more sense
Look elsewhere when you are a small SaaS company where 269 USD is a noticeable share of what failed payments cost you, when you bill on Chargebee or Paddle, or when a real part of your leak is invoices paid by bank transfer rather than card. In those cases a flat fee dunning software product covers retries, card updates and reminders, and the invoice side as well. Vendor price pages in this category change without much notice, so if you are comparing several tools over a quarter, it is worth keeping an eye on competitor pricing pages rather than relying on a spreadsheet you built once.
If most of your lost revenue comes from people clicking cancel, not from cards declining, you need a cancel flow tool and RevRescue is the wrong purchase. Our Churnkey pricing breakdown covers the main option for that, and the best dunning management software roundup puts the dunning tools side by side, and the Baremetrics Recover alternative page covers the analytics add-on route.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Churn Buster cost?
Churn Buster costs from 269 USD a month for Dunning or for Cancel Flows, and from 430 USD a month for both together. The exact fee depends on your MRR tier. Plans are month to month with no contract and no commission. A free Measure plan and a 2,500 USD Advisory engagement are also listed.
Is Churn Buster pricing based on MRR?
Yes. Churn Buster sets a flat monthly fee by MRR tier and says the price for one product scales at roughly 0.1% of MRR. The tier is confirmed before billing starts and adjusts when your MRR moves into another tier. The tier thresholds themselves are not published.
Does Churn Buster have a free plan or free trial?
Churn Buster lists a free Measure plan that gives recovery analytics alongside whatever dunning tool you already use. The paid Dunning and Cancel Flows products do not list a free trial on the pricing page. The 2,500 USD Advisory fee is credited if you adopt the tools within 90 days.
Does Churn Buster charge a percentage of recovered revenue?
No. Churn Buster's pricing page says month to month, no contract and no commissions. The fee is a flat amount set by your MRR tier rather than a share of what is recovered, which is the same model RevRescue uses.
What is a cheaper alternative to Churn Buster for SaaS?
For SaaS failed payment recovery, RevRescue starts at 99 USD a month, or 49 USD a month billed yearly, up to 50,000 USD MRR. It runs retries by decline code, card updates, email reminders (SMS from the Growth plan), unpaid invoice follow-up and billing leak checks for a flat fee on Stripe, Chargebee, Shopify and Paddle.
Does Churn Buster work with Chargebee?
Chargebee is not on the integration list Churn Buster publishes, which covers Stripe, Braintree, Recurly, Shopify and many Shopify subscription apps. It mentions an API for other platforms. If you bill on Chargebee, RevRescue connects to it directly, including the card update page.
