Subscription analytics software built around revenue at risk
Revenue at risk is recurring revenue that is likely to be lost unless someone acts, such as failed card charges, overdue invoices, expiring cards and billing leaks. RevRescue is subscription analytics software that measures it live, splits it by source, shows what was recovered this month and compares recovered revenue with what you pay.
Most subscription dashboards report the past
Typical subscription analytics show MRR, churn rate, LTV and cohort curves. Those numbers matter, but they describe what already happened. By the time a failed payment shows up as churn in next month's report, the customer is gone and the card has been retried into a hard decline. Revenue at risk looks forward. It counts money that is still recoverable today and tells you which action is most likely to bring it back.
RevRescue builds this view from your billing data in Stripe, Chargebee, Paddle or Shopify, plus CRM data from HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive when connected. Every number on the dashboard links to the accounts behind it.
Five sources of revenue at risk on one screen
| Source | What is counted | Recovery action |
|---|---|---|
| Soft declines | Charges declined for insufficient funds, do not honor and similar retryable codes | Smart payment retries |
| Expiring and expired cards | Cards expiring before the next renewal and charges failed for expired card | Card update page and pre-expiry reminders |
| Unpaid invoices | Invoices past due, grouped by age | Invoice follow-up |
| Authentication required | Charges waiting for the customer to confirm with their bank | Prompt to confirm by email or in-app banner |
| Billing leaks | Leak Scan findings such as unbilled usage or stale discounts | Leak Scan fix list |
Recovered this month and the ROI panel
Next to revenue at risk sits Recovered this month, the amount brought back in the current calendar month, split by the action that won it, for example a retry, a card update, an invoice reminder, a hand-off to the account owner or a win-back message. Attribution follows a simple rule: the last RevRescue action before the payment succeeded gets the credit, and payments that succeed without any action are not counted.
The ROI panel divides recovered revenue by your plan cost. Because RevRescue charges a flat fee by MRR band and never a percentage, the ratio is easy to read. If you are on Growth at 299 USD a month and the panel shows 6,000 USD recovered, the return is about 20 times the fee for that month.
Metrics the dashboard tracks
- Failure rate, failed renewal charges as a share of all renewal attempts, by week.
- Recovery rate, recovered amount as a share of failed amount, by decline type and by action.
- Time to recover, median days from first failure to successful payment.
- Involuntary churn, subscriptions that ended after unpaid retries, in accounts and MRR. See involuntary churn.
- Aging of receivables, overdue invoices in 30 day buckets with promises to pay.
- At-risk accounts, high-value accounts with a failure, an overdue invoice or a usage drop, with owner and next step.

Frequently asked questions
What is revenue at risk in SaaS?
It is recurring revenue that is likely to be lost without action, for example failed payments, overdue invoices, cards about to expire and billing that does not match the contract.
How is subscription analytics software different from a BI tool?
A BI tool can chart anything you model yourself. Subscription analytics software comes with billing-specific metrics such as MRR, failure rate and recovery rate already defined from your billing data.
How does RevRescue attribute recovered revenue?
The last RevRescue action before a successful payment gets the credit. Payments that succeed with no RevRescue action involved are not counted as recovered.
Can I export the dashboard data?
Yes. Every table on the dashboard can be exported as CSV, and the account lists behind each number are filterable by owner, plan and amount.
Is the dashboard included in every plan?
Yes. The Revenue at Risk dashboard, Recovered this month and the ROI panel are in every plan from Starter at 99 USD a month.
